Energy-Efficient Building Benefit Assessment

The Passive House Institute has developed an innovative method for optimizing the integration of renewable energy in buildings. This approach is based on the concept of Primary Energy Renewable (PER). A lower PER demand means that less solar or wind energy—including associated equipment and space—is required to supply the building. Through this methodology, buildings can achieve fully renewable, economically efficient, and environmentally friendly energy supply solutions.

Applicable Building Types:

  • Nearly Zero-Energy Buildings (NZEB)

  • Passive House Buildings

  • Energy-Saving Buildings

Service Scope

  1. Assessment of energy-efficiency performance for new and existing buildings

  2. Recommendations for energy-efficient building materials and construction methods

  3. Evaluation of construction costs and economic benefits

  4. Analysis and recommendations for cooling, ventilation, and HVAC equipment sizing, including intelligent building systems

Additional Services

  1. Humidity simulation for specialized cooling systems, including condensation and black mold risk analysis

  2. Thermal bridge simulations for roofs, walls, foundations, standard window/door interfaces, joints, and balcony slab connections
